Job Description

The IT Support/Network Admin will provide support to the end users as well as monitor and maintain the windows network environment in Dallas, TX.

The environment of Standard Supply uses Windows 2008 R2, SQL 2008, VMWare 5.5, Terminal Servers, EMC and EqualLogic SANSs Microsoft Office 2010, Prophet 21 12.5.  Some projects and responsibilities  will include occasional after hours work. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Monitor and test Quorum backups.
• Monitor the network for space consumption and maintenance needs.
• Cleanup system generated files.
• Build efficiencies into the network.
• Manage an IT asset database when assets get moved, added or expired.
• Utilize helpdesk ticket system for IT as well as user support needs.
• Handle as needed, support calls from 17 locations.
• Setup computer hardware.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following skills and experience:

• 3+ years' experience in user support and network admin role.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• have supported Windows 2008 R2 and new networks.
• Working knowledge of virtual environments.
• Strong trouble shooting skills to be able to detect and diagnose hardware and software issues.
• Ability to work independently and comfortable working with others.
• Self-initiator.
• Proactive.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to security policies.
